Providing social and moral support
- Anticipating customers' needs and expectations and assisting them in their day-to-day lives
- Maintaining social integration
- Conversing, reading, playing
- Suggesting and taking part in cultural, intellectual, sporting or artistic activities
- Accompanying the customer on trips: walks, medical appointments, visits to relatives, shopping, leisure activities, etc.
Manage housekeeping, maintenance and administrative tasks
- Do the shopping
- Supervise or prepare balanced meals and serve them
- Keeping house and carrying out routine household tasks
- Take care of laundry
- Tidying up the home
- Manage administrative tasks
- Maintain a budget for day-to-day expenses
- Organise and take part in your customer's trips
- Coordinate suppliers and service providers
Look after the client's health and safety
- Help with medication and follow up on medical prescriptions
- Ensure the customer's mental and physical comfort and safety
- Provide regular reports to family and friends
Companion profile
- At least 3 years' experience in a similar position required
- State diploma in social work (DEAVS) / Professional qualification as a family life assistant (ADVF)
- Certificate of First Aid (CFA)
